A great upgrade to that standard thermostat

I recently replace the heat pump in my workshop and upgraded the included thermostat with this Honeywell. I have a Honeywell thermostat in the house and I use the Total Connect Comfort (TCC) app, so I can connect the two thermostats to the same app.This is fairly easy to set up and program, but with the TCC app, programming is even easier. The temporary hold and away features are nice. The device has about 14 preset color themes and also the ability to make a custom color theme.The touchscreen is very responsive and easy to use.

Nice Compact Thermostat Esthetically Pleasing

This is a low profile small foot print fully functional thermostat that is very easy to program, shows your outside temp conditions and is very easy to read night or day, especially at night. Display isn't a moon beam so it should annoy you at night like some of the old blue LEDS did on certain equipment like TV's and HiFi gear. You can control your furnace and A/C from your phone from anywhere you wish which is really nice.If you have a modern furnace from the last 20 years you'll probably have an easy install Honeywell does a good job walking you through a 4 wire connection to a modern furnace. However if your furnace is older they do not explain to any degree how you hookup the C-Wire which needs to connect to your COMMON side of the step-down transformer (typically 24VAC Transformer). Typically it will be the B 9common) and Y (hot) terminals which I've laid out how my hookup looked in one of the attached images.

In our case the B was a C! Works great!!

a bit of con-“fuse”-sion haha with the upstairs one, we had accidentally mixed up some wires and blew the furnace fuse. Luckily after reading reviews we figured it out, even replaced the fuse up in the furnace control panel. The fuse is like a car fuse, easy switch out, recommend watching videos. The other confusing thing was one of the wires, brown in our case, was in terminal “B” as in the picture but needed to be a “C” (common wire) to power the thermostat - again internet research told me that “B” terminal can be the “C” terminal - sure enough when I changed the furnace fuse I noted that the brown terminal wire on the furnace control panel end was designated as “B/C” indicating that this was probably a C wire placed in the B terminal. We did quick voltage test at the thermostat end with the B and R wires and it was!! Rest of the install was pretty easy. Sooo happy our house is warm and the thermostat is so much easier to program and read.

I love it. It's easy to use. I warm the house up a bit before I get home and set schedules for my regular work days. It's also very pretty not the eye sore the old ones ard.

Wow factor. Best I've owned yet

This is my second thermostat I thought for my second home in Texas. And has been working flawlessly. I bought one last year and working great and now I bought another one. The best part is that I can control both thermostats individual settings individual locations on the map on the Honeywell app. Great product. It's like having a touchscreen thats a workhorse. Never fails. Bonus is that you can customize anything you want. The Honeywell app is very super easy to use. Easy to install. Easy settings. No worries. Wonderful product. Will buy again. Honeywell has their products on point.The build quality is good not bad. Touchscreen is rigid. Plus for me. No batteries required. Just make sure you connect the right wires where they belong.Great product great price.

Dead after 3 months - But WAIT…..

Touch screen had issues from day 1. Now, when it’s cold outside, the stat dies completely overnight. So we woke up to wonderfully frigid house - on a Sunday. And their tech support offices are closed. 🙄Curious to see how Honeywell resolves the issue. I may have to put my old Nest back on.UPDATE: Their customer service is top notch. I called and their tech walked me through the trouble shooting. He helped me find the issue (a blown fuse on the control board of my air handler). Got me back up and running. The touch screen still stinks but the controller is solid. And if you have gas heat as your emergency backup on a heat pump system - this controller will let you run solely off of gas in the winter. Saving you money!

nice wifi thermostat

Works well with our 5g wifi service. It was easy to install. The instructions were adequate so that I didn't have to use tech support. I like that i can control the house temperature when I am on vacation. Features are good. It is easy to set and I like the manual over ride. It is a bright screen and easy to see at night. One thing I dont like is that you have to take it off the wall to change batteries. (This is common, but my neighbor has a thermostat that has batteries on the side so that you dont have to remove it from the wall.)

Crap Thermostat

I bought one of these. Every night at 2am. It would reboot. I live in a studio and the thermostat is 5 feet from my bed. It would wake me up every night.I returned it for another. The same thing was happening. I decided to just live with it. It worked fine during the summer.Now winter is here, it a whole new set of problems. It can be set for 69 but runs my heat up to 79. It reboots everytime the heat comes on.I've attached photos and a video.I called Honeywell for help they said I have to return it to where I bought it. They were no help with my issues.

Good unit

I like these Honeywell units. I did hire an AC company to install it because I did not have a C wire on the old thermostat it was replacing. But these work well and the internet functionality works well and reliably (most of the time anyway) without being too ridiculously complex or annoying. In other words I think it's well designed. And the price is right. Especially with rebates.I do wish some of the text, like humidity, was larger. There's plenty of room on the display so I don't know why it's so small... at least give the option to make the small text larger???Overall 4.5 stars and rounding up to 5.
